From With her striking looks this relaxed comedienne quickly commands the stage…' CHORTLE Ava Vidal started her comedy career as part of The BBC Talent Urban Sketch Show Team, where she not only performed but wrote a series of short sketches. She then transferred her skills from character comedy to straight stand up and quickly became successful getting her first paid gig within a week. She was then booked to appear in clubs all over the country and despite her short time on the circuit had no trouble in commanding the audiences' attention. She was the only female to reach the finals of the BBC 3 New Comedy Awards.

Matt Rudge has the slick, confident energy to engage a crowd, using his cheery manner to create a relaxed, jovial atmosphere – something his background in TV presenting and warm-ups surely taught him. The material is equally breezy, with some especially neat lines about the Christian-America virginity movement, and he mined the easy nostalgia seam with affable reminiscences about the game Guess Who? culminating, with him imagining how a Muslim version would work with veiled women. It’s genial lightweight fun stuff all round, told with upbeat good humour.
